October in York for the York Marathon. Emma set out to complete her second marathon in York. Her valiant attempt was curtailed on a section of the course that damaged many of the runners: a section that Emma described as like a cart track. She twisted her knee quite badly but determinedly completed the course at walking pace – she was about half way when this happened and ended with a time of c5 1/2 hours. As she said afterward she walks faster than a lot of people run.
